Tom Brady, who has been active as a footballer for 22 years has announced he is retiring and plans to focus on Family, NFT, and his other businesses.
This announcement was made on his official IG account which reads;
“I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention”.
While the American football quarterback is retiring, his words on his Instagram account showed a lot of emotions. It was evident that his being on the pitch for 22 years was fueled with the passion to be 100% committed to the game, and ensuring he delivers value to his fans, coach and team mates respectively. This commitment, Brady says he is going to inject in ‘other things’.
These other things that require the NFL legend’s attention and as such forced his well-deserved retirement include his family and his companies. In his words Brady said his family is one of his “greatest achievements” and he reiterated how “fortunate to have cofounded incredible companies like @autograph.io @bradybrand @tb12sports that I am excited to continue to build and grow…”
Autograph amongst other businesses of the American football star is a non-fungible token (NFT) platform that raised $170 million earlier this month with backing from venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, Katie Haun, and Kleiner Perkins, Coindesk reports.
Tom has had interests in cryptocurrency for a longer time with his interests peaking in the previous year. According to a report by Coindesk, the quarterback announced Autograph, his non-fungible token (NFT) platform, in April, saying the company would help athletes and other famous individuals create and market their own digital collectibles. The company partnered with DraftKings and Lionsgate to create NFTs based on film franchises as well as sports stars.
While the next phase appears promising for the NFT start-up owner, he is determined to take things step by step and be all about impact, in his words
“I am going to take it day by day. I know for sure I want to spend a lot of time giving to others and trying to enrich other people’s lives…”
