The Sandbox Metaverse Game, a unit of blockchain-based investment firm Animoca Brands, scaled the 2 million mark of registered users during the play-to-earn season 2 Alpha Launch.
The new Launch coined Alpha Season 2 which took place on the 3rd of March will host collections by different industries built on their virtual land on The Sandbox metaverse. Contents in the Sandbox are majorly user-based like Roblox as gamers and inventors own their stuff although it is created on blockchain technology and Non-fungible Tokens (NFTs)
Sandbox is a virtual metaverse that allows players to play, establish, own, and govern their virtual experiences. They also authorize inventors, and participants to create the world they have always anticipated, empowering them with all they need to let out their creativity. Sandbox has succeeded in partnering with several brands some of which are The Walking Dead, Snoop Dogg, and Atari amongst others.
For the first time since The Sandbox commenced its signing up last year, it just recorded its first 2 million registered users. Alpha Season 2 will continue with the development created from the first season by adding new experiences from the Game Maker Fund like Dracula’s Castle, Meta Dungeon, The Funguys Kingdom, and Border Town of Tang Dynasty. Sandbox also boasts of a list of big groups in their digital space some of which are Warner Music Group, Adidas, and Gucci Vault, amongst others as it believes the Metaverse is a shared virtual world that must be experienced by all.
Blockchain gaming has recently enjoyed huge development and participation from game publishers like Galaxy Fight Club amongst others and this has the potential of pushing the blockchain industry into a more mainstream adoption curve.
