FTX Exchange Signs Naomi Osaka as Global Ambassador

Japanese tennis player, Naomi Osaka has been tapped as FTX Derivatives Exchange’s global ambassador. According to the news release, the athlete will receive an equity stake in FTX Trading Limited and will be getting her compensation in crypto.

Naomi Osaka, prior to this time has been known to be a gender equality advocate, striving for social justice and balance, and creating mental health awareness. She has previously shown interest in Dogecoin (DOGE) and other crypto tokens. In the world of sport, she is a leading tennis player and is one of the first expert female players to be signed by FTX.

This partnership with Naomi Osaka is one of FTX’s ways of infusing women into the crypto ecosystem. In a statement by Osaka, the athlete explained how there has been no gender balance in the financial market and also in the crypto space. Meanwhile, she pointed out that the crypto platform was designed with gender equality in mind; providing entry without a barrier to everyone.

Naomi expressed her excitement to join the likes of American football quarterbacks, Tom Brady, and Stephen Curry, NBA superstars in the FTX ecosystem. Giselle Bündchen, a Brazilian high ranking fashion model and wife of Tom Brady is also one of FTX’s ambassadors as she serves as an Environmental and Social Initiatives Advisor in FTX.

Mutually Beneficial Partnership For Osaka And FTX

The cryptocurrency exchange has charged Naomi Osaka with the responsibility to curate enticing crypto-related content targeted at young women. Even though Osaka has a Japanese and Haitian background, her content will be curated for women across the globe, not paying attention to their race or color.

As a symbol of her partnership, Osaka will flaunt the FTX logo on her jersey in all her games, starting from the Miami Open, a tennis tournament usually held between March and April which started this Monday.

FTX will also support the tennis athlete by offering trading advice for her crypto investments and by funding a non-fungible token (NFT) collection which she collaborated with her sister Mari Osaka to come up with.
