Drake Loses More than $600,000 Worth of BTC in Latest Sport Bet

Canadian singer, rapper, and actor Aubrey Drake Graham who is popularly known as Drake has lost more than $600,000 worth of Bitcoin (BTC). Drake placed his bet on the Leed United-Arsenal FC and Real Madrid-FC Barcelona ‘El Clasico’ which was held yesterday. For the first pair, his bet was in favor of Arsenal while his second bet was in favor of Barcelona.

Much to Drake’s disappointment, the Spanish club Real Madrid won Barcelona 3-1 in its home stadium Santiago Bernabeu. With this win against Barcelona, Real Madrid topped La Liga.

Although the English football team Arsenal won its game against Leed United 1-0. If both teams (Arsenal and Barcelona) had won the game as he predicted, Drake would have gotten a reward of almost $3 million.

Prior to placing the bet, Drake had signed a partnership deal with the Catalan soccer team FC Barcelona. As part of the agreement terms, the football team featured Drake’s OVO sound on their jerseys for the Sunday Match. Markedly, this is another unsuccessful sports bet for the Canadian artiste even this year alone.

Drake Record Series of Bet BTC Losses

Sometime in March, Drake placed a bet for Jorge Masvidal to defeat Colby Covington in a stellar Welterweight bout. His bet in the UFC 272 was worth $275,000 in BTC at that time. No later than two months, Drake was engaged in another sports bet.

Charles Leclerc was meant to race against other drivers in a Spanish Grand Prix. Drake placed a bet on the Ferrari’s driver to win the motor race. However, Max Verstappen put up a better strategy and won the race to the dismay of many spectators.

Drake has been quite unlucky in this regard and had succeeded in earning a tag for this turn of events. Many have come to tag his losses as the ‘Drake Curse’. Many now believe he seems to bring bad luck to any team he is associated with.

Equally, Barcelona which Drake supports has been mulling the idea of launching its own Non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The club made known this intention to launch an NFT in Q1.
