Binance Partners With Cristiano Ronaldo for Web3 Global Campaign

Football legend, Cristiano Ronaldo has successfully nabbed a Web3.0 deal with the world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance. Ronaldo regards the partnership as an opportunity to present his fans with more engaging experiences through non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Personally, the Portuguese player says that he always sought opportunities like this for his fans. For Binance and the NFT community, it will be a strategy to involve more sports fans in the ecosystem.

With the huge fan base which the legendary player possesses, there might be an enormous influx of users into the Web3.0 blockchain. Global NFT campaigns are set to commence soonest and this will be used to attract more users.

The partnership is agreed to span for more than a year, although the specific length of time was not disclosed. Binance will work closely with the Manchester United legend to design and publish a range of NFTs.

Curated NFTs from the partnership will be put on sale strictly on the Binance NFT platform. They will be listed alongside other collections which will be on board later this year.

Changpeng Zhao, the current Chief, and CEO at Binance applaud Ronaldo’s achievement in the world of football. He calls him an ‘icon in multiple industries’, noting that he has transcended football.

Zhao noted that over time, Ronaldo has built a committed and devout fan base through his genuineness, his philanthropic activities, and undisputed skills. Binance will boost Web3.0 globalization with this reserve of followers.

Sport Industry Tangles With Web3.0

The partnership deserves applause but it is just one of the numerous collaborations between the sports industry and the blockchain heavyweights. In recent times, the cryptosphere has received great recognition from sportsmen and women and even their federations.

Ranging from allowing payment of players in Bitcoin (BTC) to onboarding sportsmen as ambassadors and teaming with players to create NFTs.

Fighters of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) now receive their fan bonuses in BTC, with Crypto.com, a crypto exchange charged with the responsibility of making this possible.

Naomi Osaka is now a global ambassador for FTX exchange. One of the bonuses of the collaboration is its attraction of more women to Web3.0. The Japanese player also gets an equity share from the exchange.
