Bentley Motors Dives into Web3.0 Through an Art-based NFT Collection

Luxury automobile line Bentley is making its debut into the non-fungible token (NFT) ecosystem. Particularly, the luxury brand is doing this by releasing an NFT collection on the newly secured carbon-neutral Polygon network, an Ethereum (ETH) layer-2 scaling platform.

Noteworthy, Bentley designers created the art-based NFTs and they will be available later in September. As the number 208 is of importance to Bently, the company is making only 208 NFTs accessible to its customers.

The number is the top speed for one of its fastest inventions, the Continental GT Speed. Also, it is the cumulative production run of the 1952 R-Type Continental.

Bentley Celebrates a Structured Atmosphere

Invariably for Bentley, this is its strategy to possess a niche in the Web3.0 space. Gradually, extension and expansion into the ecosystem will be a reality for the British automobile company.

Meanwhile, Bentley is not the first automobile firm in the cryptosphere. It has only come to join other luxury brands like Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Mahindra, Hyundai, and McLean. These are active players in Web3.0, especially in the NFT community.

Bentley is pleased to enter into the NTF ecosystem with the carbon-neutral Polygon network. Unlike some other networks, the level of Polygon’s carbon emission has reached zero. Additionally, before the end of the year, the Polygon network plans to attain carbon-negative status.

Excitedly, Ryan Wyatt, CEO of Polygon, addressed the lofty partnership with Bentley. Ryan recognizes it as an expansion of the ETH scaling platform into the automobile industry with a well-renowned brand. Hence, Polygon will provide the necessary infrastructure at a low cost to smoothen Bentley’s entry to Web3.0.

Alain Favey is a member of Bentley’s Board of Sales and Marketing. He stated that the company has gained a versatile global online presence with NFTs. Therefore, it can reach its customers anytime as most of them are online and tend to do most of their purchases on the web.

Bentley Still Wishes to do More

The funds obtained from the sales of the NFTs will be used to educate and speed up the learning process of students interested in Bentley’s core areas. These areas are designing engineering and manufacturing.

Furthermore, the automaker is planning to delve into non-fungible chips (NFC) in the near future. Online gaming and other Metaverse applications are a few of its intended enterprises.
