A.C Milan Taps MonkeyLeague to Launch NFT Game

Italy-based professional football club Associazione Calcio (A.C) Milan has entered into a partnership with MonkeyLeague. Monkey League is an AAA-quality, web3 football game built on the Solana blockchain.

According to A.C Milan, as the club is popularly known, MonkeyLeague is now Rossoneri’s new Non-fungible token (NFT) Gaming Partner. As part of the partnership, several products will be designed and made available to users.

Amongst these products are exclusive, Rossoneri-branded NFT game assets, wearables, special game tournaments, and co-marketing events. Additionally, a host of other exciting initiatives, such as club players playtesting the game will be introduced.

Also, MoneyLeague in collaboration with the Italian Champion will launch a new collection of branded AC Milan NFT game assets, including new MonkeyPlayers, skins, and Stadiums.

The first batch of these NFTs which plans to be more exclusive will be auctioned to the highest bidder on October 6th via MagicEden, an NFT marketplace. Likewise, some branded A.C Milan minted MonkeyPlayers will be auctioned together with its real-life jersey that will be signed by all members of the club.

MonkeyLeague to Release MonkeyPlayer NFT

MonkeyLeague is a strategy-based web3 esports game that allows users to design and manage a team of their choice.

Most times, the team dubbed ‘MonkeyPlayers NFT’ consists of six members amongst which are a striker, midfielder, defender, and goalkeeper. These team members are able to compete with themselves and climb the league hierarchy ladder. A kind of digital currency known as MonkeyBucks ($MBS) is utilized as a reward in the game.

With this partnership, MonkeyLeague also plans to introduce a MonkeyPlayer NFT breeding season.

During this breeding season, A.C Milan’s branded assets, and some other NFTs like in-game stadiums and lands will gradually be released. While this partnership helps MonkeyLeague to bridge the gap between Web 2.0 and Web3.0, it serves as a wider Web3.0 strategy for A.C Milan.

The rate at which crypto adoption and the blockchain is increasing, cannot be exaggerated. Spanish La Liga club, Barcelona has also conceived the thought of releasing its own NFT collection as well as a token. Liverpool FC collaborated with Sotheby’s Partner to launch an NFT collection displaying its 24 key club members.
